Institute for Helping Professionals
What is Caper Institute?
Caper Institute is the training arm of CaperSpring. It is appointed by the International Society for Emotion Focused Therapy (isEFT). The only institute in Singapore authorised to organise, conduct and deliver Emotion Focused Therapy (EFT) training and education for mental health professionals.
What is EFT?
Emotions have been helping us evolve, survive, and thrive, as they’re connected to our most essential needs. They rapidly alert us to situations that impact our well-being and guide us to act on it. EFT proposes that emotions have an adaptive potential, if activated, can help clients change.
Leslie Greenberg, Ph.D., developed EFT when he asked, “What makes people change in therapy?”. It promotes awareness, regulation, and transformation of emotions as a path to health and well-being. It is also an evidence-based approach to the treatment of living and interpersonal problems and is dedicated to the scientific study of the process of human change in therapy.
Are you thinking of learning EFT?
As a mental health professional, you have many options in terms of modalities, schools or approaches. In deciding what to specialise in, one question is personal fit. Are you someone who is already comfortable with your emotions? Are you “excitable” when you make contact with another person's emotion? If you are uncertain, you might want to consider joining our workshops.
The second of three levels towards EFT certification. This training covers more broadly the theory and skill practices of EFT, heavily focused on interventions and case formulation to be implemented in session.
