Is it safe for me to receive help from an intern on clinical placement?

Absolutely! Interns undergo stringent selection by CaperSpring. Importantly, they are supervised by a staff member who is a competent clinical supervisor registered with either the Singapore Association for Counselling (SAC) or the Singapore Psychological Society.

Are there certain cases where these two groups of providers are not competent to deal with?

To uphold standards of care, a RRT applicant will be screened to determine if our interns could provide the help required. If we assess an RRT applicant’s needs for care to be beyond what these interns are able to provide, we will decline the applicant.

Is there a fee?

There is a fee ranging from $55 to $70 per hour.

Why is there a fee since the providers are interns?

The nominal fee is for cost recovery for rental and administrative overheads. A fee also ensures that RRT recipients have a "skin in the game". A form of commitment to their healing journey.

Why do we provide RRT?

According to the Institute of Mental Health (2018), one in seven Singaporeans experienced a mental disorder in their lifetime. Additionally, more than three-quarters do not seek professional help, with costly fees shown as a major factor. We strive to address these issues by making mental health care affordable by only charging a nominal fee for cost recovery.
