Melissa Lim


Therapy Philosophy

Melissa’s therapeutic approach is rooted in Emotion-Focused Therapy and Internal Family Systems. She believes in the inherent goodness within each individual and this belief serves as her guiding principle, both within and outside the therapeutic setting. In therapy, Melissa is committed to creating a warm and secure environment for exploring the client’s inner world, including the intricate landscape of their emotions. She believes that by tapping into the client’s wealth of inner resources and strengths, she can empower them to facilitate change, foster personal growth and ultimately lead fulfilling lives.

Professional Education & Credentials

Melissa graduated with a Master of Counselling from Monash University. With a keen interest in attachment and its lasting impact on adulthood, she is a registered Circle of Security Parenting Facilitator, reflecting her commitment to supporting secure parent-child relationships. Drawing from personal experience with Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), Melissa is currently training to become an ADHD coach, aiming to seamlessly integrate counselling and coaching approaches for transformative personal growth.

As a Person

Beyond her professional endeavours, Melissa is a mother to a vibrant 5-year-old boy. Her personal interests encompass journaling, exploring the world through travel, and finding solace in the transformative power of music—a medium that transports her back to significant moments in time.
