SUMMARY:3-day Transdiagnostic Emotion-Focused Therapy
DESCRIPTION:What is Transdiagnostic?  \nThe transdiagnostic approach  is a newer  development in understanding psychopathology. It posits that psychiatric disorders (e.g. depression or anxiety) have more in common than traditionally assumed as discreet or distinct.  \n  \nWhat is Transdiagnostic Emotion-Focused Therapy? \nIn this experiential workshop\, the transdiagnostic model of Emotion-Focused Therapy (EFT-T) will be presented. This treatment model combines two approaches. A modular approach targeting specific clusters of symptoms. A second approach targets the shared mechanisms which are the underlying vulnerabilities.   \nThe model proposes that clients’ core vulnerabilities are linked to specific chronic painful emotions\, and that these chronic emotions are constellations of sadness/loneliness\, shame\, and fear-based emotions\, idiosyncratically shaped by personal history.  \n EFT-T targets clusters of symptoms labelled as mood disorders by focusing on the underlying vulnerability shared by these  diagnostic categories. This shared emotional vulnerability appears to be centered around chronic painful emotions of sadness/loneliness\, shame\, and fear/terror.  \n  \nKey Feature of the workshop \nA key feature of this workshop is that real emotions are accessed and deployed. This is a unique form of experiential learning. Participants bring personal material as clients. “Student-Therapists” apply their learning on organically formed emotions.    \n  \nIn this one-day workshop\, you will learn the following topics: \n\nTransdiagnostic thinking in psychopathology: an overview\nEFT-T model of transdiagnostic treatment\nChronic painful emotions: sadness\, shame and fear\nEmpty chair work in EFT-T  \nTwo chair work in EFT-T  \n\n  \nWho is this workshop for?  \nThis workshop is primarily catered to learners who have received basic EFT training (EFT Module 1 and onwards) to expose them to new nuances in EFT practice. Learners who wish to participate in the workshop without any prior EFT background are still welcome to register\, but will have to complete some pre-workshop readings before attending. \n  \nAbout the Trainer \nLadislav Timulak\, PhD is Professor in Counselling Psychology at Trinity College Dublin\, Ireland. He is Course Director of the Doctorate in Counselling Psychology. Ladislav (“Laco”—read “Latso”) is involved in various psychotherapy trainings in Ireland and internationally. His main research interest is psychotherapy research\, particularly the development of emotion-focused therapy (EFT). He currently is adapting this form of therapy as a transdiagnostic treatment for depression\, anxiety\, and related disorders. He is also researching the use of mental health interventions delivered online. He has written or co-written ten books\, more than 100 peer reviewed papers and chapters in both his native language\, Slovak\, and in English. His most recent books include Transforming Emotional Pain in Psychotherapy: An Emotion-Focused Approach (2015)\, Transforming Generalized Anxiety: An Emotion-Focused Approach (with James McElvaney; 2018); Essentials of Descriptive-Interpretive Qualitative Research: A Generic Approach (with co-author Robert Elliott); Transdiagnostic Emotion-Focused Therapy (with co-author Daragh Keogh); Essentials of Qualitative Meta-Analysis (with Mary Creaner) and Transforming Emotional Pain: An Emotion-Focused Workbook. with several co-authors. He maintains a part-time private practice. \n \n  \n\n\nCourse Fees: \nEarly Bird Rate: $1350 (register and pay by 10 Sep 2025) \n\n\n\n\nStandard Rate: $1500 (from 11 Sep 2025) \n  \n\n\nRegistration Link: https://form.typeform.com/to/O6D9aErk \n  \n\n\n  \nAbout Emotion-Focused Therapy \nAs helping professionals\, we are in the business of change!  \nEmotion-Focused Therapy (EFT) is about changing emotion with emotion. We help clients transform painful debilitating and distressing emotions into one that is adaptive. EFT is an empirically-supported treatment modality that holds emotions as centrally important in human functioning. It involves a therapeutic stance that combines person-centered  “following” and neo-humanistic “guiding”\, in the client’s experiential process.  \n  \nAbout Caper Institute and EFT Certification \n\n\n\n\nCaper Institute is the only training provider in Singapore appointed by the International Society of Emotion Focused Therapy (ISEFT) to conduct certification training for Emotion-Focused Therapy. You may visit ISEFT’s website here: https://www.iseft.org/. \nYou may learn more about the requirements of becoming a fully-certified EFT Therapist here: https://caperspring.com/caper-institute/institute-for-helping-professionals/

SUMMARY:Introduction to Transdiagnostic Emotion-Focused Therapy
DESCRIPTION:What is Transdiagnostic?  \nThe transdiagnostic approach  is a newer  development in  understanding psychopathology. It posits that psychiatric disorders (e.g. depression or anxiety) have more in common than traditionally assumed as discreet or distinct.  \nThe rationale for developing transdiagnostic protocols is based on a number of factors; shared etiology and maintenance mechanisms\, high co-morbidity\, hypothesising that discrete disorders may be underpinned by common psychological vulnerabilities.  \n  \nWhat is Transdiagnostic Emotion-Focused Therapy? \nTransdiagnostic Emotion-Focused Therapy (EFT-T) focuses on the diagnostic cluster of depression\, anxiety\, and related disorders\, such as posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD). EFT-T differentiates itself from symptom-level treatment modality and works at a deeper underlying emotional vulnerability. This is by accessing and then transforming primary maladaptive emotion. \n  \nIn this one-day workshop\, you will gain an overview of the following: \n\nTransdiagnostic thinking in psychopathology\nEFT-T model of transdiagnostic treatment\nChronic painful emotions: sadness\, shame and fear\nEFT-T treatment processes\n\n  \nWho is this workshop for? \nThis workshop is for all counsellors\, psychologists and helping professionals who are interested in Emotion-Focused Therapy and/or Transdiagnostic approaches in the therapy space. SUMMARY:[Free Webinar] EFT-C: A Couple's Therapy Model That Promotes Interpersonal Healing
DESCRIPTION:What is Emotion-Focused Therapy for Couples? \nEmotion-Focused Therapy for Couples (EFT-C)\, developed by Leslie Greenberg and Rhonda Goldman\, is a therapeutic approach designed to address relational conflicts and emotional injuries by enhancing couples’ abilities in affect regulation. While it originated from a shared model with Sue Johnson’s Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) in the mid-1980s\, Greenberg’s EFT-C has evolved to incorporate a broader theoretical framework and distinct clinical emphases. \n  \nKey Therapeutic Components and Mechanisms of Change \nRevealing Underlying Vulnerable Emotion: This is considered the cornerstone and primary mechanism of change in EFT-C. It involves partners letting their guard down and openly sharing their painful inner experiences\, such as fear\, shame\, or sadness\, rather than expressing secondary\, reactive emotions like anger or blame. The expression of vulnerability tends to evoke compassion and support from the partner\, thereby strengthening the emotional bond\, promoting intimacy and trust. \nForgiveness: An important aspect of emotional recovery\, especially following interpersonal injuries. Forgiveness involves letting go of hurt and anger and\, in some cases\, generating compassion and empathy towards the injuring partner. A model of forgiveness in EFT-C highlights key components: the injuring partner’s nondefensive acceptance of responsibility\, expression of shame/empathic distress (which transforms identity)\, and a heartfelt apology. These actions lead to a crucial shift in the injured partner’s view of the other\, fostering trust and facilitating forgiveness. \n  \nAbout the Trainer \nDr. Catalina Woldarsky Meneses completed her doctorate degree in clinical psychology at York University under the direction of Dr. Leslie Greenberg. She has extensive training in Emotion-focused therapy (EFT) for individuals and couples. Her research has been focused to understanding how forgiveness unfolds in couples\, and she co-authored a book on this topic in 2019 with APA. Dr. Woldarsky Meneses is involved in training and supervising therapists learning EFT internationally. Originally from Chile\, she is based in Switzerland and works in private practice\, while also teaching in the graduate counseling program at Webster University and dedicating time to her family and yoga practice. \n \n  \nRegistration Here! \n  \nAbout Caper Institute and EFT Certification \n\n\nCaper Institute is the only training provider in Singapore appointed by the International Society of Emotion Focused Therapy (ISEFT) to conduct certification training for Emotion-Focused Therapy.
